Re: Voluntary Recall: PetSafe® Heated Wellness Sleeper, Power Adaptor

Radio Systems Corporation of Knoxville, TN, is initiating a voluntary recall of approximately 20,000 power adaptors. The power adaptors are used with the PetSafe® Heated Wellness Sleeper models PCU00-10911 (small), PCU00-10912 (medium) and PCU-10913 (large), sold at pet specialty stores, catalog and online retailers from late 2006 through early 2010.

 

Radio Systems Corporation has received 3 reports of melted power adaptor connectors. The power adapter presents a risk of fire.

Consumers should stop using these products immediately and call Radio Systems Corporation’s Customer Care at 1-800-732-2677 for instructions on how to receive a free replacement power adaptor with the return of the old power adaptor.

The Heated Wellness Sleepers (See figure 1) were produced with Hunter Green/Sand, Military Blue/Sand and Khaki/Sand covers and have a jacquard PetSafe logo stitched to the center front. Additional product labels include the Radio Systems Customer Care phone number.

 

The recalled power adaptors are identified by the markings “HON-KWANG”, “PLUG IN CLASS 2 TRANSFORMER”, “MODEL NO: K12-800” (See figure 2) and have a spring coil covering the length of the electrical wire (See figure 3). Heated Wellness Sleepers with power adaptors without springs are not affected by this voluntary recall.
