Radio Systems® Corporation donates $3,000 grant to L&N Stem Academy Robotics Team

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Radio Systems Corporation, makers of the PetSafe® and SportDOG® brands, recently awarded $3,000 to the L&N Stem Academy’s First Robotics Team 3966.

The focus of L&N Stem Academy’s Robotics First Robotics team, which is comprised of 30 students, is to build a robot that can throw Frisbees and climb a steep pyramid of 90 inches.

“Our robotics team is an enhancement to the unique curricula of the L&N STEM Academy,” said Team Sponsor Frank Wood. “The goal of the Robotics program is to reinforce the habits instilled by the school. This includes lessons on professionalism when dealing with sponsors, mentors, and other teams,” Wood said. “We plan for unique challenges to inspire our students and others, to do great things. The generous grant from Radio Systems Corporation will provide badly needed materials and supplies. We sincerely thank Radio Systems.”

Radio Systems provides community grants in support of youth education and pet welfare causes.

“The Radio Systems philanthropy committee is proud to support the L&N Robotics team in their endeavors,” said committee chair John Brynda. “We are always looking for ways to give back to our community and this was a great opportunity.”
