Our community needs a PetSafe dog park!

Welcome to the village of Jemez Springs located in the Jemez Mountains of northern New Mexico. We have 250 residents and at least twice that many dogs. As a tourist destination we have thousands of visitors each year--many traveling with their four footed friends. We have the space for a dog park in our Community Park. Help us give our humans and furry friends a place to play together without stickers and predators.

We are an isolated community with many more dogs than people, in a beautiful area of the Jemez Mountains of New Mexico. Many of us have talked about how we could get a dog park in our community that would serve us, as well as the 6 other small towns up and down the Jemez River Valley. We all love our dogs, but leash laws keep us from being able to let them run and play with other dogs, like they need to. We are all good at pulling together to get things done for the community -- like our recycling center, community gardens and other projects which are all managed by volunteers who are happy to participate to make the community meet all of our needs. We would be so happy to have a dog park, and be assured we would maintain it and take good care of it into the future!

Check - Your City has completed this!

PetSafe needs to know your community government supports your pursuit of a dog park. To complete this task, notify your civic leaders (ie: mayor, county executive, city manager, Parks and Recreation director) of the contest and encourage them to create an account to upload a letter.

This step is optional, but getting your pups' faces in the media can't hurt. Get in touch with your local news station and print media to rally support for the new park!

Fourth of July Celebration

Join us for a small village's celebration of July 4th with a parade of bands, floats and firetrucks, followed by festivities in the park. There will be arts and crafts, the duck races on the Jemez River, great music, and fireworks if the fire danger is low.
