We make sure to have a great time at work. I remember being completely blown away by all of the fun activities PetSafe offers at the office. We bring our dogs to work, so obviously it’s an exciting place to be. Through all of the company picnics, chili cook-offs and community events, nothing has really moved me the way that our Paw Print Blogger Summit was able to.
We invited 13 phenomenal pet bloggers, writers and enthusiasts from across North America to join us at our corporate headquarters in Knoxville, Tennessee. Our goal was to show them everything that this area of the country has to offer, and to give everyone a good perspective on what it is that PetSafe actually does for the growing pet industry(other than manufacture some awesome products).
Our guests started it off right with dinner. Near the lake. At sunset. Nope, not a romantic comedy waiting to happen, just a great group of pet lovers discussing modern training techniques, advancements in the pet product industry and chatting about our own furry friends (past and present).
We started the next day off with breakfast and product stations at our corporate office. Our blogger guests got to see current products, and had a chance to ask any questions they may have had. They then had lunch with Radio Systems Corporation CEO, Randy Boyd. Randy always does a great job of explaining the company’s mission, and why he decided to get into the pet industry.
The group then got to tour the University of Tennessee’s College of Veterinary Medicine, followed by dinner high above the city of Knoxville. The majority of our dinner time was hearing about the wonderful tour and the fun day at the office.
The next day was certainly an adventure. We toured the offices of HGTV at the corporate location of Scripps® Network Interactive. This was followed by a great doggy training demonstration, PetSafe philanthropy chat, an innovations discussion and a presentation on PetSafe’s marketing campaigns. The evening and the summit concluded with a private concert by Jay Clark at his outdoor venue in Rockford, TN. We had plenty of barbeque, PetSafe cups and pet conversations.
It felt great to have such passionate people joining us for this event. Our guests were not just people who make a living writing about what they are told. These are pet owners. Pet activists. People who want to make sure all pets are safe, happy, loved and have a great future ahead.
I think the best part of the entire Paw Print Blogger Summit was hearing about our guests and the path they took to get to where they are now. It’s amazing to have such a fantastic group of animal enthusiasts interact and find out about the latest and greatest products. We had such a great time showing them all of our PetSafe doors, fountains, containment options and other great solutions for their pets. I am going to miss all of our blogger guests, but I am excited to say that this is the beginning of a very beautiful friendship.
