We are reaching out at PetSafe...

The Pet Friendliest City in the U.S.A - PetSafe is doing its part to make sure that our pets are highly respected citizens. We are making our community the Pet Friendliest in the nation! The City of Knoxville, Knox County, Young-Williams Animal Shelter, the University of Tennessee, and PetSafe are working to make the Knoxville area recognized as the nation's Pet Friendliest community. Learn how and join the Pet Friendliest Community effort.

UT Vet Behavior Chair -  PetSafe funded one of the few veterinary school behaviorist positions in the country, within the Small Animal Clinical Sciences department of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tennessee (UT), Knoxville. The ultimate goal of an animal behaviorist is to help protect the bond between a human and companion animal. There is a terrible lack of clinical research in animal behavior and as a result of this initiative PetSafe hopes to improve understanding of pets and thus improve their welfare.

A Walk in the Park, a PetSafe Dog Park  that is - PetSafe committed the funds to create five dog parks throughout Knox County. The parks will help to further the expansion of green space throughout the city while offering pet parents alternate locations for outdoor pet recreation.  The first of the five parks, located in West Knoxville, the PetSafe Village Dog Park is currently open to the public.

Annoucing Knoxville's New Animal Village - PetSafe, Randy Boyd and Young-Williams Animal Shelter have partnered to create the Animal Village in the Bearden Hill area of Knoxville. The Bearden Hill facility is currently under construction and, once complete, it will include a satellite adoption center, a stand-alone spay and neuter clinic and a pet day care center, along with retail space for Invisible Fence of East Tennessee products.  This new facility will more than double the capacity to performing spay and neutering procedures in Knoxville. The addition of this Animal Village is expected to greatly reduce the number of unwanted and euthanatized pets in Knoxville and surrounding areas. Read more.
