A partial wire break is when the wire is not completely broken into two pieces, but there is enough damage to cause problems in the system.

If you suspect you have a partial wire break:

The only way to know for sure if there is a partial break is by getting an OHM reading from the wire. Based on the number of feet of wire in the layout and the gauge of wire being used, we can determine the amount of resistance that there should be in the wire. If you have a digital OHM meter or access to one, please take the reading from the wire on the 20k setting. Please contact our Customer Care Center. You will also need to know the number of feet of wire in your layout and the gauge of wire you are using.
