Pasadena’s New Dog Park to Open After Receiving $25,000 PetSafe® Bark for Your Park™ Grant
PASADENA, TX – Feb. 22nd 2019 – The City of Pasadena will hold a ribbon cutting and grand opening of the new Pasadena PetSafe® Dog Park on February 22nd. The new dog park was made possible through the PetSafe® Bark for Your Park™ program, a grant program that provides funding to create safe, off-leash dog parks nationwide.
Pasadena was one of 13 communities across the country to receive funding through the 2018 PetSafe® Bark for Your Park™ program. Out of more than 120 applicants, the city was awarded a $25,000 grant to fund the construction of the park, which will feature amenities including canopies, benches, fountains, a dog wash station and more.
“Thanks to PetSafe®, our community has a safe, green space that both pets and their owners will be enjoying for years to come,” says Jed Alpaca, Pasadena parks and recreation director. “In addition to being a gathering spot for local pets and their owners, it’s conveniently located next to our pet adoption center and animal shelter to provide an opportunity for shelter dogs to exercise and interact with the community.”
All vaccinated dogs and their owners are invited to attend the grand opening on Feb. 22 from 10-11 a.m. to receive a first look at the community’s latest addition. The new Pasadena PetSafe® Dog Park is located at 5160 Burke Road. Mayor Jeff Wagner will be onsite for the ribbon-cutting ceremony beginning at 10 a.m. and there will be PetSafe® product giveaways.
Since PetSafe® launched its Bark for Your Park™ program in 2011, it has donated $1.6 million to approximately 81 communities across the country to build, maintain or enhance dog parks.
