Local Durham Dog Park Re-Opens With New Enhancements After Receiving PetSafe® Bark For Your Park™ Grant
DURHAM, N.C. – Aug. 23, 2018 – Today the Durham Parks Foundation is announcing the grand opening of the new PetSafe® Dog Park made possible through the PetSafe® Bark For Your Park™ Program, a grant program dedicated to creating safe, off-leash areas for pets and their owners for years to come.
In 2016, the City of Durham was awarded a $25,000 grant from PetSafe® brand to build a new play place for people and their pets. With the new funding, the Durham Parks Foundation added amenities to enhance the park, including a new fence, wide walk gates and updated landscaping.
All vaccinated dogs and their owners are welcome to attend the event and get a first look at the new amenities. There will be food trucks on site for guests as well as PetSafe® brand product swag bags.

“We’re very excited to be able to enhance the park for our pet owners,” says Rhonda Parker, director of Parks and Recreation. “With the Bark For Your Park™ grant we were able to make important upgrades to PetSafe® Dog Park, and we can’t wait for our pet-loving community members to enjoy the new space.”
Through the grant program, PetSafe® brand has given over one million dollars in grants to build, maintain and enhance dog parks and communities across the country. “Not only do dog parks offer a great place for pets to run and play, they can also create safer, more active pet communities,” says Celeste Vlok, marketing manager for PetSafe® brand. “We hope that the enhancements to the PetSafe® Dog Park will help the surrounding community members and their pets have a better quality of life.”
