PetSafe® acquires range of Pet Porte Products

Radio Systems® Corporation, home of the PetSafe® brand, has acquired the assets of Pet Porte Ltd., and the rights to manufacture and sell the product line. The Pet Porte doors will now be available exclusively through Radio Systems.

Guernsey-based Pet Porte Limited manufactures the world’s first microchip cat flap, which was invented and patented by vet David Chamberlain and utilises the very latest in innovation and technology.

Pet Porte Limited was founded in 2005 to provide advanced animal access systems and make lives easier for pets and owners. The product works via the animal’s existing microchip, so no collar is required. The doors can be programmed for individual animals, so owners can control which of their pets are in the house at what time, and prevent unwanted visitors entering the house to steal a pet’s food.

Brad van der Veen, International Sales & Marketing Director for PetSafe said: “The acquisition of the assets of Pet Porte is really exciting for PetSafe. We have tremendous respect for the products Pet Porte has introduced to the market and the technology behind them; and we believe the addition to our range will offer our customers a broader offering.”
