Door + Containment System = Freedom

By Natalie Lester, PetSafe Brand Communications Specialist

With crammed schedules and lives that only seem to get busier, do you ever look at your pet and wish for just a second, “I wish you were more independent.” You know your pet is smart and likely lets you know when she wants to go out or play. When Emma has to go outside, she will walk to the door and then over to me on the couch. She’ll let out a little whine as if to say, “It’s time for me to potty.” I know she would love not having to tell me when she needed to go out, and I long for the day I have a big back yard all for her. I promise the first thing I will do is install a dog door. In a quick do-it-yourself weekend, you and your pet can have the freedom you are looking for. Installing both products can be intimidating, but we are here to help.

Here are some of our easy to follow videos to support you every step of the way. After a few weeks of training, your pet will be coming to you to show off and thank you for helping her become more independent.

Do you have other questions about doors and containment systems? Share them in our comment section and we will do everything we can to help.

Hi Carol, Many of our doors come with a closing panel you can slide over the door so you can keep other critters out of your home at night. Of course, when the panel is over the doors, your pet also cannot come in or out. We also offer the SmartDoor, where your pet wears a fob on his collar that unlocks the door. Without a fob, other pests cannot unlock the door and thus stay out. Our PASSport door, which is currently in development and will be available this year, works similar to the SmartDoor but has increased strength and weather resistance from patent-pending multi-point locking u-flap system (100lbs push through). Let me know if you have any other questions. Have a great day.
