Teach Your Dog to Stay Calm and Stop Barking

Is your dog’s excessive barking keeping you from having a peaceful home? If so, now is the perfect time to get started on training him when it’s ok to bark.

Try these three steps to teach your dog to stay calm and stop barking.

  1. Interrupt your dog’s barking behavior and get him to focus on you. You can start by asking him to sit, stay or simply be quiet.
  2. As soon as he stops barking, reward your dog with a treat or toy.
  3. Remove your dog’s barking triggers, or help him to see they are harmless.

Most importantly, always remain calm yourself. PetSafe® Brand is committed to finding the right barking solution for you and your dog. Bark collars and ultrasonic deterrents stop your dog's excessive barking. By giving your dog a harmless yet annoying correction when he barks, your dog will quickly learn to bark less.
