Training with a Tone

By Andrick Buggs, PetSafe Video Coordinator

As the Video Coordinator, Andrick deals with many barking dogs. Read on to see what product helps.

When you come home in the evenings, your dog quickly brings a smile to your face and washes away the worries of the day.

Yet, after a few minutes, she starts telling you about her day. What started as a relaxing evening, quickly turns into a night of barking followed by commands of “Ssssh”, “No”, “Quiet”, etc.

Nicole was experiencing the similar struggle with Riesling. Any time any one came to the door, she saw a squirrel run across the yard, or she was bored, Riesling was barking. Nicole started using the Indoor Bark Control, and she got better. See how it works in this video:

When the Indoor Bark Control is within range of a barking dog, an internal microphone picks up the sound and automatically activates the unit It then emits an ultrasonic sound. Startled by the high-pitched sound, which is safe and effective for dogs of all sizes and breeds, the dog will stop the barking.

She will begin to associate his barking with the unpleasant tone, and will remain quiet to avoid it. When the dog stops barking, the ultrasonic sound also stops and both of you will return to a lifestyle of peace and quiet.

Neither of these products work. I have both and they are a waste of money

Darlene, Thanks for taking the time to read our blog! We’re sorry the Indoor Bark Control device did not work for you! Have you tried any of the other Bark Control products?

This might be a great product for an already skittish dog, or one that’s not a Coonhound or Komondor, but 2 of mine adjusted and were completely ignoring the tones after just a few days.  I had such high hopes that this could be the solution for the 2 out of 4 that I have had issues with!
The shock or citronella collars aren’t tough enough to withstand the play, rolling, & wrestling the dogs often do while outside and break after the first 2 days as well. Guess I’ll just have to keep trying new ways for those 2 since they won’t learn like the rest!

Jenn, Sorry to hear you’ve had so many problems with our products. Email me at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), and we can have one of our Bark Control Specialists assist you. Thanks for reading!
